Having qualified as a teacher from Chester College of Higher education (now  the University of Chester), I enjoyed teaching  in primary schools in Cheshire for 23 years.  During this time, I became a deputy head teacher and also worked as a Literacy consultant for the local authority, providing CPD for teachers and supporting school improvement initiatives.

I started working full time at the university in January 2014.

I teach on first, second and third year BAQTS English modules and the English sessions within the PGCE core subjects module.
