Our Legal Advice Clinic at Chester Law School offers you the opportunity to give back to communities whilst you enhance your CV.

What aspects of the law can I help with?

As a University of Chester student, you can help members of our local community with their legal issues by working  in one of our clinics, for example:

  • General Clinic - deals with Family Law matters such as divorce and child arrangement orders.
  • Employment Clinic - deals with matters such as unfair dismissal.
  • Thinking Ahead Clinic - assists members of our local community with powers of attorney.
  • Domestic Abuse Clinic - assists with applications for non-molestation and occupation orders.

How does it work?

You will work collaboratively with fellow students and with clients on live cases. You will gain legal experience and have the opportunity to practise your client-facing skills as well as hone your legal research and drafting abilities.

You will be supervised by qualified solicitors, providing you with the opportunity to network with professionals and experience being supervised as you would as a paralegal or trainee solicitor.

Hear from our staff and students about the inspirational work they get involved in as part of the Legal Advice Clinic.
