Conor Dangerfield
Programme Leader for MSc Management
Conor is a lecturer in the Business, Management, Accounting and Finance Division at Chester Business School, and is the Programme Leader for MSc Management. Starting with his studies in BA Business Management and progressing to MSc International Finance, Conor has developed a rich understanding of business management, entrepreneurship, and finance.
His journey at Chester began as a Learning Facilitator before becoming a Lecturer. He's been instrumental in teaching modules related to entrepreneurship, strategic decision-making, finance, sustainability, international business, supervising dissertations, and fostering entrepreneurial activities among students. Leading students through the Young Enterprise Start-Up competition, as well as supervising students while they pursue success in the entrepreneurship placement pathway. This has been led by his studies and previous experience forming and running multiple start-ups.
His research interests include exploring corporate governance practices towards long-term sustainability, currently pursuing a PhD in investigating long-term sustainability governance in the professional football industry.
Conor currently teaches and leads on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. As a joint Module Leader, Conor leads and teaches BU5050 Entrepreneurial Thought & Action, BU6032 Managing Sustainable Business Ventures and BU7412 International Business. Conor further teaches on BU6002 Strategic Management and BU4002 Finance for Managers. In addition, Conor also supports both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
Prior to his PhD project, Conor researched entrepreneurship and policy, governance and support, as well as FinTech acceptance through cryptocurrency. Now, Conor has developed into the field of Corporate Governance towards long-term sustainability development, with an interest into the UK football industry and the development of sustainable and stakeholder focused governance practices.
