Chester internships deliver lasting impact for North West businesses and graduates

Over the past year, 37 businesses and charities across the region have hosted 56 Chester interns in roles spanning everything from marketing and design to psychology, natural sciences and law. Employers consistently report that interns bring fresh thinking, energy, and valuable skills to their organisations, helping them innovate and grow.  

 The University of Chester will launch its Grad Launch Internships this December, giving even more businesses the chance to benefit from enthusiastic and capable final year students who are eager to contribute and gain professional experience and build their future career immediately after their studies. Organisations interested in hosting an intern, or finding out more, are encouraged to contact the University’s Employer Engagement Team at employers@chester.ac.uk. 

One employer said: “Our first intern made a tremendous impact and settled into the role quickly, becoming an integral part of our small team. We would wholeheartedly encourage any employer to consider hosting an intern. It can be an incredibly rewarding experience for both parties.” Another added: “Amazing. I have no words how great these three interns were. A real credit to the University. All three had a significant impact on my organisation, helping us get back on track with our blogs and marketing. I’d recommend the programme to anyone looking to develop their business.”

For students and graduates, the experience is equally transformative – providing the confidence, skills, and professional insights they need to succeed in the workplace. One intern said: “I have learnt that I am far more resilient than I thought I was. By pushing through and believing in myself I was able to do everything required of me – and I even obtained a job offer to continue the research!”
