Employers seeking skilled new talent benefit from University’s GradGo Fair
Regional and local employers were invited to hire the latest talent from the University of Chester’s GradGo Fair.
Held at the University’s Exton Park campus off Parkgate Road, the event saw representatives from many organisations and businesses showcasing their open graduate level vacancies, meeting students and graduates face-to-face at their recruitment stands.
The University currently has around 2,500 final year students, many of whom are actively exploring opportunities as they prepare to enter the job market. With over 60% expressing a wish to remain in the region after graduation if suitable roles are available, the Fair offered employers a valuable opportunity to connect with highly motivated local talent.
As part of the University’s Careers and Employability service, the Employer Engagement Team continued its mission to bring together recruiting employers, students and graduates seeking work. The informal setting at the GradGo Fair allowed employers to promote current and future opportunities while raising their organisation’s profile on campus.
One employer who attended said: “It was a great event; we met some chatty students who were very approachable, with very relevant degrees and interests required for our business, and we were impressed with their levels of confidence.”
Sally Harding, Employer Engagement and Work Placement Manager, said: “With thousands of students and graduates preparing to enter the job market, many of whom wish to stay and begin their careers locally, the University of Chester recognises the importance of graduate employment.
“Events like GradGo not only help students and graduates move confidently into their professional futures but events such as this also support employers seeking skilled, motivated new talent who can contribute effectively to their organisations.”
