Public lecture explores transformation in medical training
A public lecture at the University of Chester will showcase how cutting edge digital technologies are reshaping the future of medical education, offering unprecedented accuracy in understanding the human body.
The lecture, Digital Anatomy with Precision: Transforming Medical Training and Unlocking Healthcare Knowledge, will be delivered by Professor Silvester Czanner, Head of the School of Computer and Engineering Sciences. It takes place on Monday, February 9 from 6.30pm to 8pm at the School of Education building room 016, Exton Park campus. Tea and coffee will be served from 6pm with a complimentary drink afterwards.
Medical education is undergoing a profound transformation. Once reliant on static textbooks and traditional bedside teaching, today’s training environments increasingly harness advanced imaging, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to deliver dynamic, high‑fidelity anatomical insights. These innovations, particularly in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), are enabling clinicians, students, and researchers to visualise and quantify human anatomy with remarkable precision.
In this lecture, Silvester will present his latest work at the intersection of medical imaging, applied computer science and education. He will demonstrate how enhanced anatomical representation is improving diagnostic accuracy, enriching clinical decision‑making, and elevating the training of healthcare professionals.
