University team discusses psychology of sleep in latest episode of hit podcast series

Released to commemorate World Sleep Day on Friday, March 14, the University of Chester psychology team is covering all things sleep-related in the latest episode of its The Psychology Of... series.

The 45-minute episode is hosted by senior lecturer Dr Clea Wright, with expert guests – fellow lecturers Dr Nicola Lasikiewicz, Dr Julie Kirkham, and podcast host-turned-guest Dr Kevin Hochard – each discussing topics such as how long people tend to sleep, what makes people sleepy, and what our brain does during the stages of sleep.

They will also discuss things that go bump in the night, including nightmares and sleep paralysis.

Clea said: “Following the great response we had to the Psychology of...The Traitors podcast series, we’ve been looking to discuss other topics of interest for listeners to hear a psychological viewpoint on. With March 14 being World Sleep Day, it felt appropriate to discuss an activity which takes up one third of our lives.
