Gateway House, Chester
Gateway House is located within the ‘cultural quarter’ of Chester, adjacent to Storyhouse theatre and Chester Picturehouse, Gateway House is the new home for our Creative Writing and Journalism courses.
Gateway House, in Chester city centre, is home to our dedicated journalism news suites and our Creative Writing courses. The newsroom facilities feature Apple Macs with creative software and large screens for viewing. The Media Studio, with HD cameras and green screen, is an ideal space for all our Journalism students to film news reports. There are podcast rooms for both the Journalism and Creative Writing students to record audio projects and radio shows.
There’s also a range of production equipment which can be borrowed including cameras, audio recorders and mics, mobile filming kits and portable lighting.
Gateway House also houses our Music Magazine Archive and there’s a free use small library in the common room.

Gateway House is centrally located in Chester, and accessible via the M53, A483, A41, A56, and public transport from the city centre.

Public Transport
Bache train station is a 15-minute walk from Exton Park and Chester railway station is a 20-minute walk. Arriva 1A and Arriva 1 run frequent services that stop with a short walk to Gateway House.
Parking
Parking is not available at Gateway House, however, all three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2 and PR3 have connections within walking distance to the site.
