Making an Application

Before making an application, you will need to decide on your course. Information on the range of courses available to international students can be found on the course pages of our website.

To join your chosen programme, you need to meet the University’s entry criteria. To find the specific qualifications we look for, please visit your country page.  If you are unable to find your country or required qualification, please contact us directly via international@chester.ac.uk for more information.

When submitting your application, you must also provide additional documentation. This should include the following:

  • Academic transcripts/marksheets and certificates
  • Proof of English language e.g. IELTS, WAEC, Standard XII (please note we accept a wide of country-specific English Language qualifications. For more information please see your relevant country page
  • Academic Reference
  • Statement of purpose
  • A copy of your passport
  • If have previously studied or worked in the UK you must also provide a copy of your previous and/or current visa and any previous and/or current CAS letters (if applicable)

Additional Documents that may be requested

Certain courses do require applicants to submit a portfolio, audition footage or evidence of work experience. Information on these additional requirements can be found on each specific course page. If your chosen course of study has an additional requirement the International Admissions Team will email you to request this information if it is not submitted with your original application form.

Please note, to apply for a MPhil, PhD or other postgraduate research programme you will need to apply using the online postgraduate research application form. Please do not use this application to apply for a taught course. International/EU students applying for a postgraduate taught programme must apply via the link above.
