CHICKEN-SHOP

Cody Fenlon

I reckon people would call me a bit of a miracle
Grew up in a council flat
Then a house
Got lucky with that one though
Four beds,
Which meant a room to myself

I was still a little shit though
Mostly in high school
I was cheeky at home
But enjoyed causing havoc with my mates

Never had the right uniform
Smoking green at the back gates
Glen’s voddy in my water bottle
Blue Richmond fags
School detentions
Isolation
Always having fights

I was written off
Long before I left school
If it were down to the teachers
I’d of never got a job in Chicken-Shop, down the road

But here I am
On my way to having a degree
Bit mad when I say that really
