Course Summary

If you have a passion for learning another language, are looking to learn or improve a language for business reasons, or simply help with your holiday conversations, our language evening classes are a great way to expand your language skills.

All of our tutors use fun and interactive teaching methods within their classes which will be suitable for the level you have enrolled in. We are proud to create an air of camaraderie and friendship in the group with the tutor motivating you to retain an ongoing interest in learning. Students are all encouraged to support one another.  Some classes will follow a particular course book which the tutor will advise of at the open evening or in your first class.

The cost of this course is £389. Staff and students are entitled to a discount, please contact languagesforall@chester.ac.uk to find out more.

  • All courses run subject to minimum numbers.
  • This is not a credit bearing course.
  • Refunds will not be granted after the courses have started.

Exton Park is centrally located in Chester, and accessible via the M53, A483, A41, A56, and public transport from the city centre.

Cycling

The Greenway Gate, accessible between 7am – 9pm with your University pass, is located at the back of the overflow car park and is the nearest point of access to the Millennium Greenway cycle path that connects to routes throughout the city.

Public Transport

Bache train station is a 15-minute walk from Exton Park and Chester railway station is a 20-minute walk. Arriva 1A and Arriva 1 run frequent services that stop with a short walk to Exton Park. All three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2 and PR3 have connections within walking distance to Exton Park.

Parking

Parking on campus is limited, so we recommend using public transport and/or walking if possible.

Follow on course from beginners, expanding vocabulary and basic communication

Intermediate

Ideal for students who have studied the language in the past and want to refresh or have completed Year 2, Beginners+ previously.

Intermediate+

Ideal for students who have done O levels / GCSE in the past and want to refresh and build upon their previous knowledge.

Upper Intermediate

Follow on course from Intermediate and build upon previous “O” Level / GCSE qualifications

6

Upper Intermediate+

Ideal for students who have studied the language for a while or who have an A level and want to build upon that.

7

Advanced

Ideal for students who want to build upon previous qualifications such as “A” level or a degree.

8

Proficiency

Ideal for students who consider themselves quite fluent but want to “top up”.
