Course Summary

Our language evening classes are a great way to expand and develop your language skills if you have a passion for learning another language, are looking to learn or improve a language for business reasons, or simply want help with your holiday conversations! We are currently running courses in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Welsh.

Our tutors use fun and interactive teaching methods within their classes, which are suitable and tailored for the level you have enrolled in. We are proud to create an air of camaraderie and friendship in our groups, and we will motivate you to retain an ongoing interest in learning, encouraging all our students to support one another as they learn. Some classes will follow a particular course book, which the tutor will highlight in your first class.

If you are a member of the public (not a University of Chester student), the cost of one of our language evening classes is £389. These classes run for a total of 24 weeks.

If you are a University of Chester student, all our evening classes – and our language taster courses – are free. The language taster courses require a deposit of £100, but this will be refunded back to you after course completion (attending at least 80% of the sessions). University of Chester Staff are also entitled to a discount. Please contact ahsstudentrecruitment@chester.ac.uk to find out more.

Please note:

  • All courses run subject to minimum numbers.
  • This is not a credit bearing course.
  • Minimum Age: The minimum age is 18.
  • Refunds will not be granted after the courses have started.
  • All courses are taught in person, on our Exton Park campus.

All other Languages for All students (members of the public, staff, and alumni) will not receive a refund once classes start unless the course does not run due to low interest.
