Black Britain, Blue Britain explores the long and often overlooked relationship between Black communities and Britain's maritime history, from Black sailors and historic port communities to modern careers in marine science and maritime leadership.
Presented by Nick Fleming (He/Him), Senior Lecturer in the School of Natural Sciences, the session will examine belonging, opportunity and representation along Britain's coasts, while considering how marine science can create more inclusive pathways into education, research and careers.
