The University of Chester's Primary and Secondary PGCE courses are designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in teaching following your undergraduate degree. Our one-year, level 7 courses provide a blend of practical classroom experience and evidence-based teaching approaches, ensuring you develop the skills and confidence needed to inspire and educate young learners.

The Primary and Primary/Early Years PGCE pathways equip you to engage and motivate children across all subjects in the primary curriculum and areas of learning in the Early Years framework, while the Secondary PGCE focuses on subject-specific training to support the academic and personal growth of students. All pathways emphasise reflective practice, inclusivity, and teacher and child well-being, helping you navigate the challenges of modern education.

Join us for our upcoming online information event to discover more about our PGCEs and how they can help you make a difference.

For any queries ahead of the event, feel free to contact our team at pgce.eyandprimary@chester.ac.uk or pgce.secondary@chester.ac.uk, who will be happy to assist.
