"I enjoyed all my modules and the way they were taught. Every lecture was transformational and bridged the gap between academia and industry."

My name is Goodluck Ndubuisi, and I am from Nigeria. I completed my MSc in Public Health Nutrition at the University of Chester as a Commonwealth Shared Scholar.

I found the University of Chester to be a multicultural learning environment, with modules that inspired critical thinking. I submitted assessments that were critically analysed and evaluated via Turnitin, which was very different from how I was assessed in Nigeria, where I obtained my BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Chester allowed me to read widely and have access to a range of high-quality publications.

I enjoyed all my modules and the way they were taught. Every lecture was transformational and bridged the gap between academia and industry. I loved how my Lecturers presented research findings in all their lectures, which informed my teaching style when I returned to Nigeria. My favourite module was Sociology and Psychology and Public Health. I fell in love with Psychology during this module, which motivated my MSc Research Project, personal initiatives, and research interests.

At Chester, I received overwhelming support from the Lecturers and the academic skills hub. I emailed them whenever I needed clarification or guidance, and they would always reply informatively and promptly. My English Lecturer was also highly supportive, and her classes enabled me to improve my writing style.

One place I miss at Chester is the Seaborne Library on Exton Park Campus; it was my second home. It is cosy and highly equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

My time at the University of Chester allowed me to become more confident in pursuing my passion after my studies.
