I chose to study MSc Financial Technology and Business Analysis at the University of Chester because I wanted to explore something different and develop new knowledge and skills. As an international student coming to the UK for the first time, I have really appreciated the support I received from the university, especially from the Accommodation Office. They have always been responsive and helpful whenever I have had questions about my accommodation. I have also enjoyed living in Chester. It is a peaceful and welcoming city, and Storyhouse has become one of my favourite places to spend my free time.

The University of Chester also offers many activities that have made my experience here more memorable. One of my favourite experiences was the Chinese New Year celebration, where we made dumplings and wrote Chinese New Year couplets together. Being able to celebrate Chinese New Year while studying abroad gave me a sense of familiarity and connection to home, and it was a very special experience for me.

I also took part in the Chinese Summer School as a Student Ambassador, where I helped Chinese students adjust to British culture and a new environment. Supporting them reminded me of myself when I first arrived in the UK. Everything was new, and there was so much to learn and adapt to. It was meaningful to use my own experience to help students going through a similar transition. The experience also helped me develop my communication and interpersonal skills and gave me a new perspective on my own journey as an international student. Looking back, my time at the University of Chester has been about much more than completing my degree. It has also been a journey of adapting, growing, and becoming more confident in a new environment.
