Chester student to take on UK Three Peaks Challenge for cancer charity

Queen Odozi is taking on the demanding Three Peaks Challenge with the aim of raising £1,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The intrepid student from Nigeria will climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in 24 hours, starting June 26, as part of a team challenge.

Queen is in the final year of a BA (Bachelor of Arts) Business Finance degree at the University’s Business School.

She said: “This challenge is a big step outside of my comfort zone, but it means so much to me. I’m doing it for people in my own life, for other families whose loved ones have been affected by cancer, and for those who may not have the means to access the care they need.

“I’ll be pushing myself physically and mentally - 26 miles of hiking and over 3,000 metres of climbing in just 24 hours. It’s going to be tough, but it’s nothing compared to what so many people go through every day.

“Raising £1,000 would make a real difference, in contributing to the vital work of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, supporting patients, research, and treatment. I’m so grateful for any support, whether that’s donating or simply sharing my fundraiser.”

The Royal Marsden was founded as the first-ever hospital to study and treat cancer, and continues to make life-saving breakthroughs happen today.
