The University of Chester is to hold a business support webinar at a virtual technology hub which brings together thousands of people across the North West and beyond.
NetworkHub is based at Sci-Tech Daresbury, helping support and accelerate the growth of technology companies through initiatives including business breakfast networking events, which are held monthly. These events bring together thought leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs who share a common passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Helping achieve these goals is one of the firm’s Silver Partners, the University of Chester, which connects organisations with academic expertise, specialist facilities and emerging talent.
As part of this support, the University will be presenting practical support through a hybrid webinar on Friday, October 16. The seminar, titled Finding the Right People, Skills and Support to Grow Your Business, will be an informal, practical session where the University will share simple ways for companies to find talented students and graduates. The event will be hosted at Sci-Tech’s site in Daresbury, for the benefit of businesses based there, while people are also welcome to attend online.
The webinar will also show how firms can bring in fresh ideas through placements and projects, and develop their existing team through flexible Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and short courses. It aims to hear the challenges businesses are facing, and explore how the University can help.
The event will be presented by Tim Brown, Acting Head of Chester Business School; Angie Standish, Head of Careers and Employability; and Amber Gaffoor, Volunteering and Venture Co-ordinator.
Attendees will hear about the University’s resources, including the Micro MBA and AI and Leadership courses, alongside opportunities to access University research, academic expertise, plus Master’s and PhD students. There will also be a chance to hear about recruitment, mentoring, enterprise and innovation support, as well as access to University knowledge and expertise.
Tim Brown, Acting Head of Chester Business School, said: “Being a Silver Partner at SciāTech Daresbury is hugely important to the University of Chester. NetworkHub brings together an extraordinary community of innovators, entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and our partnership allows us to connect that talent with the academic expertise, specialist facilities and emerging graduates who can help businesses grow. We’re proud to play a role in supporting the region’s technology ecosystem and in helping organisations push the boundaries of what’s possible.”
