If you need someone to talk to outside the University of Chester's opening hours, you can access free, confidential support through the Student Assistance Programme.
The Student Assistance Programme offers a 24-hour helpline and its wellbeing Wisdom app, giving you the option to connect with a trained counsellor or adviser by telephone or live chat at any time, day or night. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, worried, or simply need someone to listen, support is available whenever you need it.
The Student Assistance Programme can offer advice and support on a wide range of issues, including:
- Stress and anxiety
- Bereavement and loss
- Tenancy and housing concerns
- Legal information and guidance
- Relationship difficulties
- Financial worries
- And much more

All of this support is available free of charge to all students at the University.
